If It's April Then Matt Must Have an Ax

These pictures were taken when Matthew was approximately eight months old and just beginning to stand well. These were made in our yard in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1986. The banket Matthew is stitting on was made by Aunt Claudine Blanton West.

Our condo had no grass when we moved in, so what you see in the picture David planted. He also built the box around the tree behind Matthew.

Notice Matthew is wearing a hat. We had all sorts of hats. Also notice from the picture above to the one below he had a costume....er...hat....change.

The other day Matthew was working in the yard and picked up his father’s ax, and I made a quick video. As it begins you can hear Matthew fussing at me for taking his picture. While I was taking the video I suddenly remembered I had these pictures (taken at the same time as the pictures above) and thought it would be interesting to put the video of 23-year old Matt using an ax with eight months old Matt "wanting" to use an ax.
