Pictures from Canton at Thanksgiving

Rachel took these pictures at Dad's on Thanksgiving. Notice how she took pictures of objects, etc. and herself but none of anyone else.

Heavy sigh......at least they are pretty good. Especially the ones she made of herself. :)

This one seems to be a reversed image looking up towards Pa's old homesite.

Rachel and Photoshop

It's amazing what she do with photoshop......Notice she's holding her phone.

Two ways I wasted much of my time growing up....sitting with my dog and riding the golfcart.

A picture of me and my dog, Lady. We are parked in the small parking space/drive of my home. You can see "the store" across the way and I-285 in the background where it crosses Roosevelt Highway. You can also see how close the railroad track was to our home. No wonder the dishes in the cabinets rattled.

Sharp Mountain Baptist Church

Sharp Mountain Baptist Church is located on Highway 5 between Canton and Ball Ground. It is the location of the Land reunion. Behind the church and up the hill is the cemetary where JWJ and Amanda Land are buried. Aunt Dessie's and Uncle Roy's babies are buried here.

When I was a little girl Uncle Homer would lead singing in the church after everyone was finished eating.

This is also the church where Granny's (Amanda) funeral was held. I wrote about it here.

When I was little the reunions were always here. Later between there was no shelter over the table and because of the heat we moved the reunion to Boling Park in Canton. Though the church covered the tables a few years ago we have the reunion in the fellowship building....air conditioning......we are such wimps now.
